Since you can't come inside the library just yet, we've decided to bring the library outside to you!
Our new outdoor browsing service Library Take-Out(side) is now offered every Saturday, weather permitting.
The “library” will be set up on the sidewalk in front of the library.
How does one browse safely for books in a pandemic? Scientific evidence tells us that outdoor events are much safer than indoor events when it comes to contracting the virus. Being outdoors, coupled with mask and physical distancing requirements, makes Library Take-Out(side) a lower risk event.
If you don’t have a mask, the library will gladly provide you with one. Library staff may need to limit the number of browsers at any one time.
To avoid having to disinfect and quarantine the browsing collection, visitors are required to slip on a pair of food handler gloves before they start browsing. Gloves are provided. Hand sanitizer is also available.
Refusal to wear a mask or gloves means we cannot serve your library needs thru Library Take-Out(side); you may use Curbside Delivery instead and make your requests online or over the phone. Thanks for your understanding.
Grab your parasol and library card and come browse the dozens of new books we’ve recently added to the collection during Library Take-Out(side) every Saturday, weather permitting.
