Science and Society Discussion Series: Mystery and Science through Organic Agriculture
Thursday, February 20, 2020
Jim Durst of Durst Organic Growers will present the theory, practices, and sanctity of organic agriculture through pictures, stories, and experiences. Enhancing living soils, practicing sustainable pest and disease management, using water conserving irrigation practices, promoting employee welfare, sustaining wildlife, and giving back to the community are all at the heart of the Durst farm’s mission.
The Science & Society sessions provide opportunities for the public and those engaged in research and policymaking to share ideas and concerns. We hope such public discussions will become models for polite and meaningful engagement of participants with differing points of view and that they will
increase understanding of the issues and contribute to more informed development of future public policies. All are welcome to attend, and we encourage an open dialog on all the topics presented
