Get Outside with the Woodland Public Library
Join our summer reading program, Get Outside with the Woodland Public Library: read, Make, Explore! This year it runs from June 1st to July 31st 2023. All ages may participate with shows, fun activities, reading challenges, and prizes.
This summer we invite you to read 5 books, make 5 things, and explore in 5 ways. You can read books from home or from the library. You can make things at home or attend a Make and Explore program every Thursday from 1-2pm during the summer in Square One, starting June 15th. You can explore our library resources, new places in the community, or just attempt something new. Come see our Special Guest performances weekly, Tuesdays at 1pm in the Leake Room, starting June 13th.
You can log everything on our online Beanstack site, wpl.beanstack.org, and choose between logging books, or logging in minutes which is better for older readers.
After you read five books you get a free book! To complete the program you must read five books, make five things, and explore in five ways. Upon completion, children ages 4-11 will receive a toy trinket, and three virtual tickets to put into our grand prize drawings to win a scooter, penny board, an American Girl Doll, Harry Potter book set, and more!
The Early Learner’s Summer Reading Program, for children ages 0-3 who complete the program will receive a free book after five books have been read. To complete the program you must read 5 books, make 5 things, and explore in five ways. Upon completion, they will be automatically entered into a grand prize drawing of a play camping set and a stuffed animal and board book pair.
Kids who complete the Read, Make, Explore challenge can continue to read throughout the summer to earn more badges, more prizes, and additional entries into the grand prize drawings. We hope you will join us in exploring all the library and the community have to offer!
